This mod works through Windhawk, so you can review its settings and disable it without replacing the Windows shell.

INSTALLATION

Install Island Media Controls

Download Windhawk. Use the current installer from the official Ramen Software GitHub release.

Open Explore. Launch Windhawk and open the mod catalog.

Search the title. Enter "Island Media Controls" and review the source, settings and compatibility notes.

Install the mod. Apply your settings and restart the affected program if Windhawk asks you to.
